The website “Sport in Europe” started in 2004 within the framework of a Jean Monnet project funded by the European Commission. Project and website both are coordinated by the Institute of European Sport Development & Leisure Studies at the German Sport University.

“Sport in Europe” focuses on the relationship between the European Union and Sport. Detailed information on organisational structures of sport and the characteristic features of the sport systems in the member states are provided. The website also offers links to relevant documents, institutions and organisations in this context.
